What do you think?

Describe the process you took to present your scene.  What went well? Not so well? What would you do differently next time you had to do a scene?

                   To present my scene, Lines, Yolanda and I had to make sure we limit the scene to the most important part of the scene. We had the scene where Lady Macbeth was sleepwalking while having nightmares. I also had to type over our scenes but this time I put the person's name so that they knew when they were talking. The funny thing is that we practice for only 30 minutes total. The day of, we were so nervous and we thought that we were mess up. Well, the only person that forgot their lines was Yolanda, but I think we did good though. Next time, I wouldn't mind doing it again, it was fun. On the next play, I believe that my partners would need more practice.

Weakness

Who is weaker? Macbeth or Lady Macbeth?  Why?

                I believe that Lady Macbeth is weaker than Macbeth. At the beginning , you would have thought tha Lady Macbeth had it all together because she looked like she had everything under control and she was calling Macbeth a coward for not being that strog of a man. After the witches told Macbeth that he was about to become king, Lady Macbeth even came up with a plan to kill the king so that her husband and her could be in power. When the murders started getting out of trouble, Lady Macbeth started sleepwalking and having some nightmares. The whole situation started being overwhelmed her. And towards the end of the play, she killed herself. This shows why she is weaker because she couldn't take it no more.

Paranoia

Are Macbeth’s paranoia due to his own weakness or a consequence of what he did?

             Macbeth's paranoia could be due to both his weakness and the consequence to what he did. I believe so because he could be weak from knowing what he did. Also, since everything started with the witches, it could be them that is showing Macbeth that something is going to happen to him after everything is done. Since Baquo was his closest friend, he might also feel guilty that he killed him only for power. Basically, it could have happen because of three reasons. It could happen because Macbeth feels guilty for killing his best friend or he believes that it is too much to take with all these murders or it could also be the witches that are trying to play a trick on him. But when I think of it, it could of been all of the above.

Make and explain your prediction: What will Macbeth do about Banquo?

              To start off, it seems that Macbeth will do anything so that he stays in power, even if he had to take down one of his closest friends. I believe that Macbeth will hire murderers to kill Banquo and his son, Fleance. I think that Macbeth will be overwhelmed to kill almost everybody to stay in power. The same way that he felt guilty about killing King Duncan, he will feel more guilty about killing his own friend since they were closer. 

Directors

What are the factors that influence how a director presents a scene? Why do you think different directors see things so differently?

           How a director presents a scene is affluenced by different factors. it could of been the props, the lines that has the stress and inflection on, while the character is speaking. the sound effects in  the background, the location. I believe that different directors see things so differently because when they read the lines, tthey could imagine how they want the scene to look like. For intance, when certain people read books or a scene about witches, they automatically think that they are some old ladies, but there could be some other directors that want to be different and want the witches to be males or from the modern ages. It all depends on how the reader is viewing the characters.

Manliness

Discuss the question, what does it mean to be a “man”?  Do you agree with Lady Macbeth’s view? Or do you think Macbeth’s consideration is more “manly”?

            To be a man, you have to stand up for what you believe in. I sort of agree with Lady Macbeth's point of view. I don't think that Macbeth is a coward for not wanting to kill the king as Lady Macbeth says he is. I just think that Macbeth has a heart for not wanting to take somebody's life right away for no apparent reason. I believe tha Macbeth is a coward because as the man of the house, he couldn't even tell the wife, Lady Macbeth what was in his mind, knowing that he might be scared of the consequences taht wiill happen. Basically, when you stand up for what you believe is right or wrong, even if someone close might disagree, taht is what will make you a man or courageous.

            

Ambition

Create your own argument: Whose ambition is driving this killing of Duncan, really? It is clear that neither character is telling Duncan or Banquo how they really feel, but do they tell one another?  Be sure to pick lines that show you both direct and indirect evidence for your argument.  

    So far, we all know that Lady Macbeth is driving the killing of King Duncan, since we know that Macbeth is already having some doubts about the whole plan. I believe that Lady Macbeth and Macbeth are hiding some details from each other. Especially, Lady Macbeth, she is hiding the fact that she wanted to be a male so that she could do her mission and take the throne. i think that once that she knows that Macbeth will take over the throne, she will probably kill her husband too. one of the quotes that shows this is the one when she says: "Come, you spirits that tend on mortal thoughts, unsex me here, and fill me, from the crown to the toe, top-full of direst cruelty" Women in her society at that time wasn't much of a value and you had to be a man to accomplish what was great in people's eyes. Also, to do what she had to do, she wanted to become a man.
